For Immediate Release

This morning, 9/4/2018 the West Mifflin Police Department received a complaint from the WMASD, Middle School concerning allegations of inappropriate actions by a school bus operator who is employed by the transportation service contracted by the West Mifflin Area School District.

I have assigned two senior detectives from the West Mifflin Police Department to investigate the allegations which include audio and video evidence which is time and date stamped this evidence has been supplied by Pennsylvania Coach Lines without objection.

This video and audio is real-time evidence of the entire episode in question.
This video and audio substantiates the innocence of the bus operator and Pennsylvania Coach Lines.

The statements from the juveniles in question are completely discredited. In addition, we have alerted school counselors through the superintendent’s office to inquire if any other students that ride this same route to determine if there are any allegations that our department is not aware of.

Our department will continually work with the school district to make student safety a priority issue.

We would like to thank our community, and all involved in keeping West Mifflin safe.

If anyone has any relevant information regarding this or any other ongoing case, please contact the West Mifflin Police Department at (412) 461 3125, dial 911 or speak to your local police department.
