West Mifflin DUI Checkpoint 2018 – the statistics
On Friday, August 31st the South Hills DUI Taskforce operated a DUI Checkpoint on Route 837 near Kennywood Park in West Mifflin.
Municipal Officers from area departments and a number of Pennsylvania State Police were detailed, assisted by communications, technical, fire, EMS and others.
West Mifflin, Pleasant Hills, Jefferson Hills, Bethel Park, Brentwood, Elizabeth Borough, Elizabeth Township, Brentwood, Baldwin Borough, and Munhall Police Departments – all a part of the South Hills DUI Taskforce.

Community Assistance – Attempt to identify
Alert: “Warrant” SCAM – spoofed/fake phone numbers
Unknown persons are calling residents claiming to be from an attorney’s office or some other legally-related agency.
The caller notifies the recipient that there is a warrant for their arrest with their local police department and to call a certain number to get it cleared up.
Community Alert: Suspicious Activity/Scam Alert
In the area of the Morton Plan.
Three trucks pulled up to a property (one red, one black, third unknown). Trucks had machinery on the back.
Asked a resident to do a driveway sealing job on the property.
Traffic Notification – Lebanon School Road
Starting tomorrow (Thursday, August 9th) and hopefully, for about a week, Lebanon School Road in the area of McGowan Avenue will be restricted to a single alternating lane while crews carry out a water main repair.
