D.A.R.E

The West Mifflin Police Department has been teaching D.A.R.E program in the West Mifflin Area School District 5th grade since 1994.

The program itself is a life skills program which teaches children ways to stop and think about choices before entering into any type of risky behavior.

D.A.R.E not only covers the dangers of alcohol and tobacco but also peer pressure, stress, ways to say no to risky behavior, how to communicate effectively when saying no, and how to report bullying.

At the conclusion of the program, the children receive a certificate and memorabilia to remind them of their commitment to stay drug-free and avoid violence.
