At the regular Borough Council meeting held on April 15th, 2025, Dispatcher Jennifer Cheslock and Officer Tyler Scruggs were awarded with a Departmental Commendation for Meritorious Service while in the conduct of their duties.
On February 26th, 2025, Officer Tyler Scruggs was able to track down and apprehend a wanted violent sexual offender who had a full extradition warrant who had fled Washington State. Utilizing information uncovered and provided by Dispatcher / Records Custodian Jennifer Cheslock, Officer Scruggs was able to locate this individual and affect an arrest.
Without Dispatcher Cheslock’s diligence and attention to detail while performing her duties, and Officer Scruggs’ utilization of this information provided, a wanted violent sexual offender was arrested and will face justice in Washington State, hopefully helping to bring closure to multiple victims.
