Pittsburgh – PennDOT District 11 is announcing an improvement project at the intersection of Streets Run Road (Route 2046) and Prospect Road in Baldwin Borough, Allegheny County, will begin on Monday, June 15 weather permitting.

Crews from Golden Triangle Construction will install a mountable curb in the bridge area of eastbound Streets Run Road at the intersection with Prospect Road.  This improvement will allow the removal of the stop sign on westbound Streets Run Road at the intersection. Eastbound traffic on Streets Run Road will continue to be required to stop if turning left onto Prospect Road.  The stop sign at Prospect Road will remain.

The improvement work will occur weekdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. through Friday, July 3. Single-lane alternating traffic will occur.  Flaggers will assist motorists through the intersection. Additional work includes drainage improvements, slope stabilization, signage upgrades and paving.

The work is part of the $11.18 Glenwood Interchange Phase 2 project.  The overall project includes the replacement of four culverts, utility relocation, traffic signal upgrades and the resurfacing of Route 885 (Mifflin Road) between Lebanon Road and Doerville Street.  Streets Run Road is part of the detour route.
