Cpl. Larry Moss from the Lake Charles Police Department brings us a video highlighting the correct way to respond to an officer during a traffic stop.
Always remember, it part of the job of a Police Officer to make sure our roads are safe.
Police Officers do what they do, how they do it, on traffic stops for a reason – to ensure your safety, their safety, and the safety of other road users.
Some quick notes –
- Should an Officer alert you, pull to a safe place and come to a complete stop, put your vehicle in park.
- Sit calmly in your seat and hand the Officer what they as for ask for – keep your hands on the steering wheel.
- Don’t argue. Cooperate.
- Always ensure that you have your current registration, insurance information, and driver’s license readily available.
- Should you be issued a citation, your signature on a citation is not an admission of guilt. It is to say that you received the citation.
