Meet Madison Williams. She’s the daughter of a Western Pennsylvania Police Officer, and she turned 7 in August. After much thought, Madison figured that she’d like to use some of her Birthday money to buy chocolate for Police Officers to show that they are appreciated.
Madison shows that a big heart, a little gift, and a little support can go such a long way in a very difficult profession.
More importantly, this little story shows that even young children see what is going on around them, and they question why it happens. It’s so great to know that this one, at least wants to make a difference.
Accordingto Madison’s mother:
We are a thin blue line family. With all of the negativity in the media regarding police, of course, our daughter questioned, “why do people hurt police? Will they hurt daddy?” I told her that being a police officer is dangerous and that is why we pray every night. She then said, “I want to tell all of the police that I like them”.
So….after brainstorming and our daughter wanting to use some of her birthday money, we came up with this idea. A simple little thank you gift from a 7 year old with a huge heart. My husband will be bringing these to work and I will be passing them out to officers at my job. We see you and appreciate you. Thank you to all of the police officers who put their life on the line on a daily basis. We support you!!!
