West Mifflin, Allegheny County – On Thursday January 27, 2017 at 5:21am, West Mifflin Police responded to a residence on Glenburn Dr. for a reported Stolen F 150 Truck that the owner was warming up and left unattended.

Officers were checking the area and located the Truck and a Silver vehicle stolen out of Steubenville Ohio in the Walmart parking lot.  Both vehicles were occupied and the officer requested assistance and was waiting to engage the suspects when they began driving from the scene.

The officer then engaged both vehicles and a 7 minute pursuit ensued ending about 4 miles away in the Lincoln Place area of the City of Pittsburgh when the operator/suspect purposely jammed on his brakes causing the police vehicle to strike the rear of the truck.  The suspect then drove a short distance away and exited the vehicle and fled on foot and was able to elude responding assistance.

Due to the nature of the pursuit the second vehicle was able to get away. That vehicle was stolen from Steubenville Ohio on January 23.  It is described as a Silver Hyundai bearing Ohio registration GVS5914.

West Mifflin Police are continuing the investigation and are collecting physical evidence as well as video recordings in an attempt to identify the suspects involved.
