For Immediate Release: Shots fired in area of Monview Heights
West Mifflin Police Responded to the Monview Heights housing complex where we located a 15-year-old resident of Whitaker who had been struck in the arm with a bullet. A second victim was located a short time later in Munhall.
This investigation has been turned over to Allegheny County Detectives.
It was determined during the investigation that the person located on the complex grounds was a student in our school system. Through the investigation and conversation with School Administration, it was determined that he will not be returning to the school for the remainder of this school year and will be properly recovering from his injury.
The community will however, notice an increased police presence on the school campus to help calm any additional concerns of the school community and to promote a positive safe environment.
