Early Friday Morning at 12:41 am we were given information from area residents and witnesses as to several people looking into parked cars in the Homeville neighborhoods area of West Mifflin. That information led Police to a residence also in that area where Officers were able to identify several Juveniles and recover stolen property from vehicles that had been entered.
Juvenile arrest charges are being filed against those identified and items identified as stolen were returned where possible. We have a couple of items in our evidence room that will need to be identified by the owner for safe return and we ask any person who discovers that their vehicle was entered to please call the police department so we can make a record of the incident and/or return items that can be identified by victims.
The West Mifflin Police Department thanks those persons who notified our department of suspicious activity as we cannot be in all places at all times this notification often assists with crime prevention and prosecution.
As previously stated on this site, Please Keep your Vehicles LOCKED and outside lights on as a deterrent to these crimes of opportunity and ALWAYS call the Police if you see or hear suspicious activity.
