Kennywood Amusement Park; Protest Scheduled for May 9, 2015; Shut Down the Palace
West Mifflin, Allegheny County
– On Saturday May 9, 2015 between 11:00 and 13:00 hrs a pre-planed protest will be occurring at the Kennywood Amusement Park.
West Mifflin Police Department has been monitoring this planned event on Social Media and has been communicating with the event sponsors and Park Officials regarding the protest for several weeks. The protest is addressing an aquarium park based in Florida and it appears several people will be remotely protesting at this venue.
All indications is that this event is for informational picketing that will be restricted from park property but will be permitted near the parking lot drive entrances and exits without inhibiting ingress and egress. We do not expect any type of disturbance as a result of the event.
West Mifflin Police will maintain a presence in the area both on Park property and on the public street access areas for assistance with the health and safety of all persons. We will utilize presence, video recording and social media technology to aid in our safety goals.
