PITTSBURGH – The Allegheny County Department of Human Services (DHS) and the National Council of Jewish Women (NCJW) will hold a public sale of prom gowns and dresses beginning on Wednesday, April 5 at Thriftique in Lawrenceville. Proceeds from the sale will benefit Project Prom.

Gently worn and new dresses will be sold for $25, $50 and $75. The sale will be ongoing. The gowns are available through the generosity of retail establishments and individual donations. Visa, MasterCard and Discover will be accepted. No checks, please.

Thriftique is located at 125 51st Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15201. For store hours, visit www.ncjwthriftique.com or call (412) 742-4951.

Project Prom started in 2003 to provide attire for students who may otherwise have to miss the prom because of the cost. It has grown substantially since then. This year, DHS partnered with NCJW to continue the program, outfitting hundreds of students with gowns and accessories.
