NerdWallet considers business climate and local economic health
San Francisco, CA (August 12, 2015) – NerdWallet, a consumer finance website, has conducted a study to find the best places in Pennsylvania to start a business – and West Mifflin ranked first.
To determine this ranking, NerdWallet examined 145 places in Pennsylvania with populations of 5,000 or more and analyzed the following factors:
· Business climate
o Average revenue of businesses
o Percentage of businesses with paid employees
o Businesses per 100 people
· Local economic health
o Median annual income
o Median monthly housing costs
o Unemployment rate
West Mifflin, a borough in Allegheny County, is less than 12 miles southeast of downtown Pittsburgh. West Mifflin’s 1,159 businesses earn an average of $5.14 million per business annually — the highest of any community on our list. Such factors help create a stable and supportive business climate in West Mifflin, encouraging aspiring entrepreneurs to make the city their new business’s home.
